St Michael and All Angels has enjoyed a close relationship with the village school for generations. The school’s story began in 1837, when Nicholas Adamson Roch and the parish rector, the Reverend Holcombe, established a Sunday School to help local children learn to read. Their vision led to the opening of Cosheston and Nash National School in 1859, creating a lasting legacy of education, opportunity and community within the village.
Today, the school remains at the heart of Cosheston life. Generations of local families have learned, grown and formed friendships there, and we are proud to continue our partnership with the school through visits, celebrations, collective worship and community events throughout the year.
Like our church, the school is about much more than a building. It is a place where children are encouraged to flourish, where relationships are nurtured, and where the values of kindness, respect and service are lived out every day. Together, church and school continue a shared commitment to serving the whole community and helping every child know that they are valued, supported and encouraged to reach their full potential.
